Councilman Connor Moreton for Saint Bernard

Councilman Connor Moreton for Saint Bernard Connor Moreton for St. Bernard Council • We Believe in More for St. Bernard Council Everyone in Saint Bernard is my neighbor no matter how many steps away.

I’m Connor Moreton and while you may not recognize my name, I hope you can remember me out-and-about in our village, helping wherever I can. Whether it be making posters for community events, sitting in on Villiage Council Meetings, or even just supporting local businesses, you can count on me to bring positivity and good conversation. From what I’ve experienced, we’re the best neighbors around! I

’ve been welcomed with kindness, support, and a few mowed lawns when my lawnmower decided to take a break. It’s easy to love our community, but with troubles like the pandemic, slow-moving initiatives, and declining community engagement, it makes me wonder how even more incredible it would be if we had more. More engagement. More transparency. More inclusivity. More of what makes St. Bernard our home. This is what has called me to run for Saint Bernard Villiage Council. I believe now’s the time to welcome fresh perspectives and ideas into our leadership. With that comes a future of streamlined ways to share community complaints/ideas, non-discrimination legislation to protect our neighbors, and more actionable activity from our various committees. Let’s join together with our neighbors and bring Saint Bernard into this future. We believe in more for Saint Bernard Council.

I would like to congratulate Gus Stuchell, Jeff Edwards, and most excitingly, Kyllikki Rytov for winning seats on St. Bernard Council! I’m looking forward to another productive term with some amazing colleagues.

Please also join me in congratulating our other elects:
School Board - Jason McMullen, Micki Spears, Marc Fleak
Treasurer - David Kathman

Beyond candidates, St. Bernard chose to approve all issues on the ballot, including needed levies and energy aggregation!

All candidates, regardless of the result, should be proud of themselves for putting in the work to run for office. We have a village full of leaders and that gives me confidence in our future.

Great news! Progress is being made on the LISC home repair program. We’re working to help residents make critical repairs to their homes and strengthen our community’s housing stock. This is just one of the ways we’re investing in our residents and our neighborhoods.

I am so very proud to share that I have again been endorsed by the Victory Fund! I know I sound like a broken record, but I’ll say it again and again: our communities need q***r leaders. LQBTQIA+ folks know how to build and leverage community to solve complex problems and we need that now more than ever. As always, any q***r folks interested in public service, let’s start the conversation!

Keeping St. Bernard clean and beautiful is a priority. That’s why, as Chair of the Finance Committee, I led the decision-making within our committee to purchase a new street sweeper. By making smart, long-term purchasing decisions, we can continue to fund crucial projects that improve our residents’ quality of life. Of course, a huge thank you to Don Middendorf and our service department!

As Chair of the Finance Committee, I am proud to have led the conversation in committee to purchase a new firetruck for our Village. We carefully analyzed our financial health and low debt, making a strategic decision to finance a top-of-the-line vehicle. This is about maintaining our insurability and ensuring our firefighters can reach every home in St. Bernard. A huge thank you to Fire Chief Brian Young for his valuable insights and dedication to our Village.

When you head to the polls this November, be sure to look for Issue 34, a Hamilton County levy for our Great Parks. This is a crucial renewal levy that will not increase taxes. The funding is vital for maintaining and improving our county’s incredible parks, trails, and conservation areas. From preserving greenspace to upgrading playgrounds and trails, a “yes” vote for this levy keeps our parks safe, clean, and accessible for everyone to enjoy.

On November 4th, you’ll see Issue 21, the gas aggregation question. Just like with electric aggregation, this will allow our Village to pool its natural gas purchasing power with a trusted partner like Energy Alliances of Ohio. This can provide our residents with more competitive and stable rates, protecting us from volatile market prices. It’s a great opportunity to save money.
