Bring your littlest kids to our toddler programs, like Playground Storytime on Sept. 23, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Collier-Blocker-Puryear Park (10 N. Holmes Blvd., St. Augustine). They'll hear a fun story and then have a blast with their new friends on the playground.

Painting with REC-Creations is on Sept. 19! Adults and kids 12 and older will each paint that adorable floating otter and starfish as a group. The event runs from noon to 2 p.m. at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center (1300 Duval St., St. Augustine). You're free to bring snacks and drinks along with your artistic impulses.

⚠️ Watch your toes

Happy Wildlife Wednesday from this common snapping turtle (Chelydra serpentina) seen taking a walk in the Southern Grove area of St. Johns. This cranky little tank might have been around since before the neighborhood existed; researchers say it's possible the species can live for over a century!
