Yesterday, the City Commission proclaimed today, January 27, as International Holocaust Remembrance Day in the City of St. Augustine. We remember the six million Jewish men, women, and children and the millions of other innocent victims murdered during the Holocaust. We reaffirm the importance of education, remembrance, and vigilance in confronting antisemitism, bigotry, and hatred, and in safeguarding human rights for all. May we honor the victims by remembering the past and committing to a more just and compassionate future.
