The Fort Mose Historic State Park preserves the story of the first legally sanctioned free Black settlement in what is now the United States. As we reflect on the meaning of Juneteenth, Fort Mose offers residents an opportunity to learn about the fight for freedom.

🔥 Did you know rechargeable batteries can cause fires?

Cell phones, laptops, power tools, e-cigarettes, and other electronic devices should never be disposed of in curbside garbage or recycling containers. The heat and compaction in the back of the trash truck can damage the lithium-ion batteries and cause fires.

Take your old electronics and rechargeable batteries to an approved drop-off location for proper recycling. This helps protect collection workers, recycling facilities, equipment, and our community. ♻️

TRAFFIC ALERT: International Golf Parkway 🚧

Motorists should be aware of ongoing construction activities on International Golf Parkway (IGP) associated with infrastructure work.

⚠️ UPDATE FOR WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17:
• Westbound IGP is CLOSED from Commerce Plaza Boulevard to SR 16.
• Motorists are encouraged to use CR 2209 as the recommended detour route.
• The closure is expected to remain in place through tonight at a minimum as infrastructure restoration work continues.

Please allow extra travel time, follow posted detour signs, and use caution when traveling through the area.

TRAFFIC ALERT: International Golf Parkway 🚧

Motorists should be aware of upcoming nighttime traffic impacts on International Golf Parkway (IGP) as construction crews install a 42-inch reinforced concrete pipe and remove existing utility lines. Work is scheduled to occur nightly from approximately 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

📅 June 15
• Eastbound IGP will be CLOSED between SR 16 and Mill Creek Academy.
• Drivers should follow posted detour signs.

📅 June 16-17
• Westbound IGP will be CLOSED between SR 16 and Mill Creek Academy.
