🚧 FDOT Seawall Replacement Project Begins Week of June 15

Construction is scheduled to begin the week of June 15 on the Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) seawall replacement project along State Road A1A between the Bridge of Lions and Charlotte Street.

The $19.9 million FDOT project will replace the existing seawall, reconstruct the bayfront promenade, install a new coquina concrete wall, rebuild timber pergolas, remove the event platform, and complete other waterfront improvements designed to protect critical infrastructure while preserving the historic character of St. Augustine's bayfront.

The project is a collaborative effort between FDOT, the National Park Service, and the City of St. Augustine.

Traffic will be maintained throughout construction in accordance with FDOT standards, though residents and visitors should expect ongoing construction activity and periodic pedestrian access impacts within portions of the project area.

For real-time traffic updates, visit FL511.com or use the FL511 mobile app.
