This free community event is a great opportunity to meet local first responders and learn more about the tools they use every day to serve our community.

🚌 Mondays with the Mayor: Star Circulator Expansion!

This week on Mondays with the Mayor, Mayor Beth Sweeny is joined by Reuben Franklin, Assistant City Manager for the City of St. Augustine, to share some exciting news about expanded Star Circulator service connecting St. Augustine Beach and St. Augustine!

Starting October 1, 2026, the Star Circulator will provide free, year-round transportation between the two cities with 18 total stops.

🕘 Monday–Thursday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
🕘 Friday–Saturday: 9 a.m. – 11 p.m.

The service will offer residents and visitors another convenient way to travel between St. Augustine Beach and downtown St. Augustine without having to worry about finding parking.

The route will be similar to the route used during Nights of Lights last year, with multiple stops throughout the area. Funding for the project is being provided by the Florida Department of Transportation and the St. Johns County TDC.

Today, we pause to remember the lives that were lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the bravery and sacrifice of the first responders, military members, and countless individuals who stepped forward during a time of unimaginable tragedy.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the courage, compassion, and unity that brought Americans together. May we honor their memory by standing together, supporting one another, and never forgetting.

The City of St. Augustine Beach approved an Electric Mobility Device Ordinance at its regular Commission meeting on September 8, 2026. Ordinance 26-06 will regulate the use of electric bicycles and other mobility devices within the city and will provide specific requirements on helmets, age limitations, speed, and use on sidewalks. The City of St. Augustine Beach held the FY 2027 Tentative Budget Meeting on September 8, 2026, where the Commission voted to keep the millage at 2.5000 mills for the 2027 Fiscal Year, with a total budget of $15,555,894. The final budget hearing will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 5:01pm, at City Hall, 2200 A1A S, St Augustine Beach, FL 32080.
