Today we had a medical call that required us to split our crews and provide care to several patients. One of the trickier parts of the call was the location of those patients, which meant we had to get a little creative.

Thankfully, we had some great partners from the St. Anthony Police Department there to help. Everyone is doing alright, and we were able to get everyone the care they needed.

A special thank-you to St. Anthony Police Department for giving the other half of our crew a ride back in their squad. 🚔

You truly helped a few firefighters check “ride in the back of a cop car” off their bucket list! 😂

Thanks for always being there when we need you, SAPD! 👮‍♂️🚒

🚒 Mutual Aid Response

St. Anthony Fire crews were called to assist our neighbors at Columbia Heights Fire with a structure fire today, along with crews from Fridley Fire.

Multiple departments working together helps ensure we have the personnel and resources needed to respond safely and effectively when emergencies happen. We’re always proud to work alongside our neighboring departments and support each other when the call comes in.

Did you know that fires make up only a small portion of our call volume?

The majority of our calls are medical emergencies, while the rest include vehicle accidents, hazard calls such as downed wires, CO alarms, gas calls, and many other types of emergencies.

Altogether, these calls add up to more than 2,000 calls each year! 🚒🚑

Every call is different, but our mission remains the same: to be there when our community needs us.

What a great evening celebrating Night to Unite with our community!

Our crews had an amazing time visiting neighborhood block parties and spending the evening talking with residents of all ages. We always appreciate the opportunity to connect with our community, answer questions, and let everyone explore the fire trucks.

One crew even got to enjoy some fresh cotton candy—a sweet bonus to an already fantastic night!

Thank you to everyone who invited us to your block parties and helped make the evening so memorable. We can’t wait to see you again next year!

Last week, we installed a new diesel exhaust capture system in our fire station, replacing a system that had served us for more than 20 years.

Diesel exhaust is a known carcinogen, and reducing firefighters' exposure is an important part of keeping our members healthy. This mission is especially meaningful to our department, as we have experienced the line-of-duty death of one of our own due to occupational cancer.

Thanks to a federal grant, we were able to replace the aging system with modern equipment that will help protect our firefighters for the next 20+ years.

We're grateful for this investment in firefighter health and safety, allowing us to continue serving the St. Anthony community for years to come.

🏈 BIG WEEKEND AHEAD! 🏈

This weekend, we are very excited to wish TWO of our firefighters the best of luck as they look to bring home a professional football championship with the Minnesota Vixens! 🏆

🔥 Firefighter/EMT Maria Beck — After playing several seasons with the team, Maria has now stepped into the role of coach!

🔥 Firefighter/EMT Anna Kimball — Anna will be taking the field as a defensive end!

The championship game will be played this weekend in Canton, Ohio, and you can watch it on ESPN2!

Good luck, Maria and Anna! We’ll be cheering you on all the way! 🏆🏈🔥
