WATER OUTAGE

UPDATED: Water service has returned to normal for the areas affected by this morning’s leak. You may return to regular use. There is no boil water advisory at this time. Thank you for your patience during this unexpected outage.

The Saint Albans Municipal Utility Commission is experiencing a water outage for Stover Street, Slater Avenue, Baier Street, and Oakland Avenue. Crews are working as quickly as possible to restore service. The outage is expected to last approximately two
hours. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience during this
outage.

The City of St. Albans is accepting applications for two positions within our Public Works Department:

• Temporary and permanent General Laborers
• CDL Driver

A valid West Virginia driver’s license is preferred, but not required, for General Laborer applicants. CDL Driver applicants must have a valid West Virginia Class B driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25.

Please note that the meeting will be held at the McKinley Recreation Center, located at 3000 Kanawha Terrace. Signage inside the building will direct attendees to the meeting room.

All City Council meetings are open to the public. A public forum is held at the end of each meeting for residents who wish to share questions or concerns.

The bridge is closed to vehicles from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. tonight for the St. Albans-Nitro Labor Day Fireworks Show and is open to pedestrians for viewing.

🎆 Fireworks begin promptly at 9:30 p.m.

Motorists should use an alternate route until the bridge reopens. Please travel carefully and watch for pedestrians throughout the area.

🚧 REMINDER FOR TONIGHT: BRIDGE CLOSURE & EVENT TRAFFIC

As we get ready for tonight’s St. Albans-Nitro Labor Day Fireworks Show, motorists are reminded that the Dick Henderson Memorial Bridge will close to vehicle traffic from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.

The bridge will be open to pedestrians during the event, with fireworks beginning promptly at 9:30 p.m.

If you are traveling between St. Albans and Nitro this evening, please plan ahead, allow extra time and use an alternate route during the bridge closure.

Please use caution near viewing areas and be alert for increased pedestrian traffic.

Heading out for the St. Albans-Nitro Labor Day Fireworks on Sunday night? Please plan ahead.

Roadside Park
The lower portion and boat ramp area will close Saturday, Sept. 5, at 10 p.m.

Dick Henderson Memorial Bridge
Closed to vehicle traffic Sunday, Sept. 6, from 8:30-10:30 p.m. The bridge will be open to pedestrians for fireworks viewing.

The fireworks begin promptly at 9:30 p.m.

Motorists should allow extra travel time and use an alternate route while the bridge is closed. Please use caution around event viewing areas and watch for pedestrians.
