My 7 year old asked my friend where babies come from, casually sitting on a porch at the East End Yardsale last weekend.

Did either of us know how to respond in that moment?

Nope. Not a clue. She referred the question to me, I couldn’t tell you how to talk to my 7 year old about the birds and the bees. (i’ll take any advice)

I know the basics, make sure they know their anatomy by its correct terms, and always teach consent and the difference between good and bad touches. But this one was hard. He’s basically a baby, don’t I just brush it off and wait until he’s older?

Also, NO. There are resources just like this one, that help prepare you for these things. And I’ll be honest, I’m looking forward to talk about this with educated professionals and a group of parents like me.

I invite you to join us! This is age appropriate, family friendly education! Your kids deserve it.

WV Free is offering 2 $50 gift cards to the adults who attend with their youth, and a $50 gift card to the youth, as well. These can be from walmart, amazon, sheetz, etc.

Venom & Velvet is also throwing in a $50 gift card to each person who attends! We look forward to having you!

Max capacity is 20 youth, and their adults.

I'm not the most creative, however I believe college graduation tomorrow, specifically my decorated cap, will reflect my leadership style:

Not always favored, but always hard at work to achieve something better.

Campaigning even while obtaining a bachelor's degree is rough, however, I hope it also shows my level of dedication to the District.

Congratulations to all fellow graduates! May God bless you and keep you in His favor, and best of luck on your future endeavors! 💙

We will hold a public Town Hall style virtual meeting on this project in June after candidates have had time to review data and come back with a game plan. And then? We will be tasking you, our neighbors, to host us for local town halls this summer.

Trust is our #1 with asking for your stories and vulnerabilities. You need to know opening yourselves up to this kind of visibility (even to a few people) doesn't stop shy of that. So, transparency will always be at the forefront. And we want those without an online presence to know what's going on.

As always, here's the survey. Keep sharing. We're gaining momentum.
