Every ride has a story. 💜

For the residents of Wellspring Senior Living Campus in Saginaw Township, STARS Lift lets them maintain their independence with each ride to a medical appointment or other destination, giving their families peace of mind.

Each resident has a different reason for riding with STARS, but their stories share a common thread: reliable transportation can make independence possible.

Becky French, a daughter of a Wellspring resident, said:

"As much as these ladies appreciate STARS, us as the kids appreciate it twice as much too. Because it gives us peace of mind.”

Thank you to Char Robbins, Tammi Dreher, Marlene Brown, Violet Balamucki, Betty Mertz and Sandy Krause for sharing your stories and showing us what every ride can mean.

Take a ride on Route 2 tonight to All About Service Animals, hosted by Legal Services of Eastern Michigan and Disability Network of Mid-Michigan at the Andersen Enrichment Center & Memorial Rose Garden at 120 E. Ezra Rust Drive.

The event will cover what qualifies as a service animal, service-animal rules in retail and housing, what you can and cannot ask, and include a demonstration of how service animals can help.

This seems like a good time to share our policy with pets!
-Service animals are welcome to ride the bus with their handlers.
-Other animals may ride when properly secured in a crate/carrier, in accordance with STARS policy.

📋 Register for the event: https://shorturl.at/AljjE

Leave the driving to STARS and ride to the event! 🚌🐾

Sparkles is back! 💫🤖

A huge thank you to Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy - SASA FIRST Robotics Team Pantheon 5193 for spending their summer bringing our 1990s-era mascot back to life.

For the Pantheon 5193 team, repairing Sparkles was an opportunity to put their robotics skills to work outside of the competition floor. For STARS, it was a chance to watch a talented group of students turn their skills into something that will continue to bring joy to the Saginaw community.

But what made this partnership especially meaningful was learning how this experience and our organization fit in their bigger picture.

Pantheon 5193 believes sustainability and giving back to the community should be part of their bottom line. As Coach Lindsay Weisenbach said, STARS was a natural organization for the team to support, not only because of the economic footprint public transportation creates, but because of the broader community impact that comes from helping people get where they need to go.

We’re grateful to Pantheon 5193 for investing their time, talent, and energy back into our community.

Thank you, Pantheon 5193! We’re excited to have Sparkles back and can’t wait to see where she shows up next. 💜✨
