WCES is so proud of Crystal Barnhill and Kent Nevitt for representing our campus today at the EMS ISD Teach Fest!

Their session, “If You Plan It, They Will Grow,” shared outstanding strategies for hitting a home run with differentiation using Bluebonnet Math. Their passion for supporting student success and empowering teachers was evident as they showcased practical ideas that help meet the needs of all learners.

Fine Arts is wrapping up the school year in the most heartwarming way—by using creativity to serve others!

Our talented 5th grade students recently hand-sewed special reading stuffies inspired by designs created by our Kindergarten students. After carefully bringing the kindergartners’ imaginative drawings to life, the 5th graders delivered the finished creations to their excited young artists.

The joy on the kindergartners’ faces was priceless as they saw their ideas transformed into real stuffed friends. Even more special was watching them read alongside the “big kids” who lovingly created them.

This project beautifully combined art, craftsmanship, collaboration, literacy, and kindness—showing that the Fine Arts are about so much more than creating; they’re about connecting, inspiring, and serving others.

We are so proud of our students for sharing their talents and making meaningful memories that will last long after the school year ends. ❤️📚🧵

We loved seeing a special connection between our Pre-K and third-grade students during a recent reading activity! 📚

Our third graders took on the role of reading buddies, sharing stories with our Pre-K students and creating meaningful moments filled with learning, friendship, and fun.

It was wonderful to watch our students enjoy time together while building a love of reading across grade levels. 💙✨
