🚔 **Weekend Crime Prevention & Safety Brief**

The weekend is here, which means it’s time for sunshine, cookouts, ball games, graduation parties, lake plans, and at least one person saying, “I’ll only be gone for a second” while leaving their keys in the car.

Please don’t do that. Frfr.

A few quick reminders from the Saginaw Township Crime Prevention Unit:

🔐 **Lock your vehicles.**
Take your keys, wallets, fi****ms, purses, backpacks, and anything valuable inside.

🏠 **Lock your house, garage, and shed.**
Unlocked doors are basically the free sample table of crime.

🌙 **Do the 9 PM Routine.**
Porch lights on, vehicles locked, garage doors closed, valuables removed.
That beep is the sound of prevention.

🚗 **Drive sober and slow down.**
There will be extra traffic, families out walking, kids riding bikes, and people enjoying the weekend.

👀 **Call in suspicious activity.**
You know your neighborhood better than anyone. If something seems off, please call us.

We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing weekend. Enjoy the weather, look out for your neighbors, and help us keep Saginaw Township a great place to live, work, and visit.

Please, don’t do crime.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On Thursday, June 4th, 2026 at approximately 6:04 p.m. officers from our agency responded to the 4500 block of Ashwood Dr. West for a physical altercation taking place between two males subjects. While enroute to the scene, officers were updated that one of the male subjects involved had been stabbed several times. When officers arrived on scene they found a male laying in the driveway unconscious with apparent stab wounds to the torso. Officers began life saving measures while at the scene, but the male subject succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation showed that a male subject drove to the location, exited his vehicle in the driveway, and a physical altercation ensued between the two of them. During the altercation a knife was produced and the victim was stabbed several times in the torso. The male suspect then fled the scene in his vehicle. Video surveillance in the area captured the incident and officers were able to identify the male subject involved. A short while later the male subject was located, he was taken into custody without incident and later lodged on an open murder charge.

The victim was identified as Brandon Michael Armstrong, w/m, 33yrs of age, from Saginaw Township.

I encourage anyone that witnessed this incident or has any information relating to this incident to please contact our agency.

Yesterday, the Saginaw Township Crime Prevention Unit hosted our first Vehicle Theft Prevention Partnership Program meeting.

This meeting brought together area dealerships, law enforcement partners, and other officials with one shared goal: preventing vehicle theft before it happens and improving how we respond when it does.

Vehicle theft is not just a property crime. Stolen vehicles are often connected to other crimes, including violent crimes. When we work together to prevent vehicles from being stolen, we also help take transportation away from criminals and make our communities safer.

This program is designed to build an intelligence sharing network between law enforcement and our local dealerships so we can better share information, identify trends, improve prevention efforts, and conduct future operations aimed at reducing vehicle theft throughout Saginaw Township, Saginaw County, and surrounding areas.

We sincerely appreciate our partnership with the Genesee Auto Theft Investigation Network (GAIN) the Saginaw Police Department, and the dealership representatives who showed up to support this effort, including:

Gales General Service Center
Serra Chevrolet of Saginaw
Wilson Ford Lincoln
Garber Chevrolet Saginaw
Garber Buick
McDonald Auto Group
Auto Brite Used Cars
Saginaw Police Department
Midland Police Department Michigan

Your insight, cooperation, and willingness to be part of the solution helps make this program stronger from day one.

Partnerships like this are exactly how prevention works.

Please, don’t do crime.
