Remembering 9/11: Honor, Unity, and Hope

Today, OLA of Eastern Long Island pauses to remember September 11 with honor, respect, and gratitude for the lives that were lost and the countless lives forever changed.

In the hours, days, and weeks that followed, something beautiful emerged from unimaginable tragedy: the true character of the American heart. People put aside political differences, backgrounds, and circumstances and simply saw one another as fellow human beings in need.

Neighbors opened their homes, strangers shared what they had, children gave their allowances, and businesses and communities answered with extraordinary generosity.

September 11 also showed us that America's greatest strength is not found only in its buildings or institutions, but in its people—in our ability to remember, rebuild, stand together, and rise again.

May we honor those we lost by carrying that spirit forward: less division, more compassion; less fear, more courage; less judgment, more unity.
May the greatness of this nation always belong to everyone who has called America home, and may liberty, dignity, and hope remain a light for all.

We remember. We honor. We stand together. And we choose hope. 🗽🇺🇸

Estamos profundamente agradecidos y muy emocionados de regresar al mágico y encantador Greenport para celebrar nuestro festival, y especialmente agradecidos por la hermosa conexión, confianza y apoyo del North Fork Arts Center. ❤️

El Sapan Greenport Theater North Fork Arts Center at the Sapan Greenport Theatre tiene una magia muy especial. Es mucho más que un lugar donde se proyectan películas.
