With an impending snowstorm expected to start this evening, please familiarize yourself with the local ordinances relating to the parking of vehicles during snowfall and snow removal from sidewalks post snowfall. Please stay off the roads to give our highway department time and space to safely and efficiently clear the roadways.

§ 265-43Parking during snowfall.

A.
The parking or standing of a motor vehicle on any street in the Village at any time between the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., after there has been an accumulation of snow to a depth of two inches or more on such street during a snowfall, is hereby prohibited. The parking or standing of a motor vehicle on any street in the Village at any time between the hours designated in any snow emergency declaration declared by the Mayor, after there has been an accumulation of snow to a depth of two inches or more on such street during a snowfall, is also hereby prohibited.

§ 235-4Snow and ice on sidewalks; penalties for offenses.

A.
It shall not be lawful for any owner or occupant of land or premises adjacent to a sidewalk in the Village to suffer or permit any ice or snow to remain on the sidewalk in front of said premises so as to impede travel longer than 24 hours after cessation of a storm or formation of such ice.

Earlier this morning, the East Hampton Emergency Service Unit, comprised of Police Officers from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department, the East Hampton Village Police Department and the East Hampton Town Police Department conducted their routine monthly training, which was held at the Sag Harbor Cinema, 90 Main Street Sag Harbor. The Police Officers and Police Vehicles observed in the area surrounding the cinema have no affiliation to ICE or any other government agency. Training has concluded at this time.
