⛳ **Mt. Graham Golf Club Overseed Update** ⛳

We have an important update for our golfers!

The overseed process at Mt. Graham Golf Club needs just a little more time. To give the new grass a few extra days to establish and help ensure the best possible playing conditions, the course will now **reopen Monday, October 12**, instead of Saturday as originally planned.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone's patience. We know this may not be great news, but we hope you'll agree it's **fair news**...and speaking of the **FAIR**! 🎡

Spend some time this weekend enjoying the **Graham County Fair**, then head over to Mt. Graham Golf Club and check out our **new Toptracer Range technology**! 🏌️‍♂️

The driving range remains a great way to get some swings in while the course finishes overseeding. Come experience Toptracer, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy some time at Mt. Graham Golf Club.

🌭 9TH ANNUAL GIVE FROM THE HEART HOT DOG SALE! ❤️

It’s that time again! Join us at Safford City Hall on Thursday, October 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for our 9th Annual Give From the Heart Hot Dog Sale!
Let us take care of lunch while you help support a great cause right here in our community!

🥤 Sodas: $1.00

The City’s Give From the Heart Program is funded 100% through donations, and all proceeds from the Hot Dog Sale will go directly to the program to help make a difference in our community.

🌶️ SalsaFest kicked off the season, and the fun on Historic Main Street is just getting started! 🛍️☀️

Market on Main is BACK, and it has a NEW location! (10 a.m. - 5 p.m.).

Market on Main will now be located along Main Street from 5th Avenue to Central Avenue. Come out, check out all the wonderful vendors, shop local, and enjoy another great community event in Downtown Safford!

And don’t stop at the market! Take a stroll along Historic Main Street and visit our anchor shops, local businesses, and restaurants. There’s plenty to see, shop, eat, and enjoy throughout downtown.

Nominations will be accepted October 1 through November 1. ❤️

We know, it’s only October 1, and Christmas may still feel a little ways away! But behind every Angel Tree gift is a lot of planning, coordination, and generosity. With so many families in our community who may need a helping hand this holiday season, starting early gives us the time needed to make sure as many children as possible can experience a little Christmas magic. ❤️

Angel Tree family nominations are open October 1 through November 1 at 11:59 p.m.

If you know a family who may have difficulty providing Christmas gifts for their children this year, we encourage you to submit a nomination through the link below.

🎁 Nomination Guidelines:
• Families must live in the Gila Valley.
• Children from birth through age 18 are eligible. If a child is 18, they must currently be attending high school.
• Please be thoughtful and reasonable when listing requested gifts. Requested items should have a retail value of no more than $50 per child.
• You will be asked to detail an item the child wants, and item(s) the child needs.
• Please complete all requested information on the nomination form. Incomplete nominations will not be considered for fulfillment.

🚨 Press Release 🚨

The City of Safford is pleased to announce the award of a $33,341 federal grant to enhance pipeline safety and expand community education.

The funding will support expanded 811 damage-prevention outreach and hands-on natural gas safety education at local schools and community events.

This investment will help strengthen safety, increase awareness, and protect our community for years to come.

The Gila River is expected to rise rapidly tonight, with potential flooding in areas near the river. Road and bridge closures are possible.

🚧 Do not drive through flooded roadways or low-water crossings.

• Limit: 10 bags per household
• Self-fill
• City staff available to assist until 7:00 p.m. tonight
