Brix and Blox Builders is back this month on Saturday, September 12! Ages 4-12 can come and go from the program between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
This class is a hands-on building program where kids use their imagination to design and create with LEGO®, wooden blocks, and a variety of open-ended building materials. Through free play, participants develop creativity, problem-solving skills, spatial thinking, and teamwork while having fun.

A HUGE congratulations to some of our recent little patrons who hit 1000 Books Before Kindergarten milestones! These kiddos are going to be kindergarten ready!
Read any book to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before starting kindergarten. If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years and 1,095 books in three years.
Join in on the fun! You can track your books on the Safety Harbor Beanstack app or at safetyharborlibrary.beanstack.org. At every 100 books, your little one will get a special sticker, a book, and a treasure box prize!

A great reminder during Library Card Sign-Up Month! Your library card gives you access to so many things!

Before we turn the page and introduce our September feature family, I wanted to share one more little gem from our August feature on the Safety Harbor Public Library. 💚📚

Meet Library Director Brittany, standing beside something I had no idea existed until we did this story — the Seed Library! 🌱
Yes… FREE SEEDS! Residents can choose seeds to take home, plant and grow.

And that's just the beginning. Did you know our library also has a Tool Library?! 🛠️

This is exactly why I loved sharing the library's story in . A library today is SO much more than books. There are resources, programs and opportunities available right here in our own community that many of us probably don't even realize exist.
So before September's issue takes center stage, consider this your reminder:
Go explore your local library. You may be VERY surprised by what you can check out! 🌱📚🛠️

The library is closed next Monday, September 7 for Labor Day.
All City Facilities are also closed, trash and yard waste collection will happen as usual.
The PPLC Administrative Office, Deaf Literacy Center, Pinellas Talking Book Library, and all PPLC Member Libraries will also be closed.

🎣 The pier was destroyed during the 2024 hurricane season. After extensive planning, design, and construction efforts, the pier has been rebuilt and is open for everyone to enjoy.

We are proud to partner with Largo Public Library, Palm Harbor Library, and Barbara S Ponce Public Library of Pinellas Park during the month of September for the Welcoming Week Basket Drive! Donations are accepted September 1st through September 30th at the library. Community members are encouraged to donate full-size, new, unused household goods to support local refugees and immigrants.

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month which means you could win a prize for signing up for, or renewing, your library card! All ages can come into the library from September 1-September 31 to enter into a weekly raffle.
How to Enter:
🚶Come into the library and visit the Circulation Desk
✍️Sign up for a library card
OR
✅Renew your library card, if it qualifies for renewal
-The card must be expired or have an expiration date before January 1, 2027
-If you renewed recently, on or after June 1, 2026
🎟️You will receive a raffle ticket and be entered into the weekly drawings
