πŸš’ New District 52 Placed in Service

This week, the Safety Harbor Fire Department officially placed our new District 52 into service. The 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe SSV replaces our 2012 GMC Yukon, which has served the department for many years. Our current 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe SSV will now transition into reserve status.

District 52 serves as our primary Incident Command vehicle and plays an important role during structure fires, major emergencies, and other large-scale or complex incidents. The vehicle is equipped with an Incident Command Board and other equipment that allows the Incident Commander to track resources, maintain personnel accountability, and coordinate operations.

This new vehicle provides our command staff with a modern, reliable platform to safely and effectively manage emergency incidents while improving coordination and accountability for our personnel.

Thank you to Officer Hurt and Officer Smaldone for their heroic actions yesterday rescuing a victim from a submerged vehicle in a retention pond. Once Safety Harbor units arrived on scene, the patient was transferred to E52's paramedics for evaluation, treatment, and transport with Sunstar to the hospital. Everyone's quick actions provided a positive outcome to a very difficult situation.
