Some Sadieville history:

312 College St - Sallie Sherritt House

Sallie (wife of T. Frank Sherritt and mother of T.F. Sherritt) was the original owner of this lot. The home is built in the American Foursquare style.

Sallie’s children sold the home and lot for $400 in 1916 to J.W. Collins. In 1919, Collins sold it to Dave Griffith, who sold it to Edna Craycraft and W.D. Price for $800 in 1934. By the time they sold it in 1943, the value of the home rose to $37,000 and it was purchased by Edgar Evans. Edgar left the home to his wife Edna Margaret. She resided here until 1991 when she sold it to Jimmie and Lee Ann Millikan.

Other owners have been Michael Brown, Michael Mizell, Kimberly Bennett, and current owners Adam and Angela Marmino.

Some Sadieville history:

219 Main St - RE Lee/Nell Burgess House

F.T. Mansfield was an early owner of this home. It was sold for $360 to R.E. Lee in 1898. In 1925, Lee sold the house to C.T. Smith for $4250. In 1936, Smith’s heirs sold it to Joseph Burgess and in 1961, Vivian Burgess deeded it to Joe S. Burgess. Joe’s wife, Nell, left it to Julianna Lafleche.

In 2014, it was deeded to Arthur Minsky, then in 2019 it was purchased by Croquet LLC for $11,000. Corey and Samantha White are the current owners.

Mrs. Nell Burgess and Mrs. Frances Warring (good friends and neighbors) used to ride the train into Georgetown early in the mornings to complete high school, and then back to Sadieville in the evenings. They later ended up teaching together.

Mr. R.E. Lee kept a general store and was the founding president of Farmers Bank of Sadieville, and served until the bank merged with Deposit Bank in 1918.
