The 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion was the only all-Black, all-female unit deployed overseas during World War II. Tasked with clearing a massive backlog of mail for U.S. troops, the “Six Triple Eight” worked tirelessly under the motto “No Mail, Low Morale,” ensuring soldiers stayed connected to loved ones. Their service broke barriers and exemplified courage and dedication.

CalVet's Minority and Underrepresented Veterans Division is partnering with TODEC Legal Center to offer a Veterans Pathway to Citizenship webinar on Thursday, March 11, at 10 a.m.

The webinar will provide free legal assistance to veterans seeking naturalization services. Additionally, veterans will have the opportunity to learn about their earned state and federal benefits. All veterans and families are welcome!

The CalVet executive team met with Governor Gavin Newsom at his office last week to celebrate the passage of Senate Bill 694, which will protect California veterans from predatory “claims sharks” — unaccredited individuals who exploit veterans seeking help accessing the benefits they earned through service.
