Thank you so much for all of your support! We are truly blessed by your kindness.
We have given out around 250 backpacks in August alone! These backpacks are full of school supplies, new socks and underwear, hygiene items, and of course - fun activities.
Our Amazon wish list (link below) is still full of items we are in need of for the coming school year and beyond. We understand life is expensive right now. If you can’t donate, no worries! You can share our list with your friends, church, running club, book club, sewing group, work friends, etc.

School starts so soon at Mustard Seed School Sacramento, they don't have enough sturdy backpacks to give to our youngest guests! A sturdy backpack that can last through the year, in all weather is key for students to carry their belongings. Can you help with a donation of a standard sized sturdy backpack?

We are also looking for bike locks as our guests are experiencing an uptick in bike theft.

I am completely blown away by the generosity of my community.

Last Friday, I asked if you would help me clear the Amazon wishlist I created for Mustard Seed School, and I truly did not expect that you would buy almost EVERYTHING on the list. I have been watching package after package arrive at my house, and I am so incredibly grateful.

Mustard Seed School here in Sacramento serves children experiencing homelessness. They provide a safe place to learn, help children continue their education while they transition back into public schools, offer enrichment activities, provide food and laundry services for families, and give children a secure place to keep their personal belongings.

I’m planning to deliver everything at the end of next week. I know we still have a lot of packages arriving over the next several days, so I want to make sure I have as much as possible before I head over. I cannot wait to see everything together and share the final donation with you.

There are a few new items still on the wishlist, so I’ll put the link in the comments in case anyone would still like to take a look. But please know that you’ve already done SO much.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I knew this community was generous, but seeing you show up for these kids in such a big way has been incredible. I can’t believe we have almost cleared the whole list. ❤️

I’ll also I do an unboxing while I organize things over the next couple days. I want to try to get it all there in one truck load. 🎉

Last Friday we said goodbye to our Jesuit Volunteers, Grace and Sally, and we’re not quite sure we will recover. They made everything and everyone around them sparkle. They loved our students and families and the unhoused community with every ounce of their being. And they left Mustard Seed and Loaves & Fishes better because of it - which really is something.
Thanks for filling our cups over and over again. We love you. ❤️☀️🌻

Shoutout to Friendship Park (Sacramento Loaves & Fishes) for letting us use the Reading Room today while Mustard Seed was being fumigated.
We are so grateful for George, River, and the team who made it possible for the kids to come to Summer Program today!

Wow! Wow! Wow!

Your team is so patient and intentional, and staff are amazed by your calm and caring presence. Thank you for the yummy lunch and being a part of our school!
