Midtown Homeless Helpers

Midtown Homeless Helpers We are set up by the LGBTQ+ center in midtown on Sundays from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. We run entirely on donations. If you would like to donate, please Venmo me.

Four years ago, I began homeless outreach because I loved baking and I figured that the majority of people living on the streets were not getting homemade cookies. I would bake the cookies, package 3 or so to a baggie, and walk with a backpack and my sweet doggie, Anna, going around Midtown Sacramento, handing out cookies and providing doggie visits to those who were unhoused. Through this, I got

to know a number of people who called a tent their home, and I started bringing them hot meals. Now, two of those who were unhoused have joined me in my efforts to make sure that those in Midtown do not starve and that they have other needs that are not met, such as a sleeping bag, socks, shoes. All money received will go to feed the homeless of Midtown Sacramento, and surrounding areas of downtown Sacramento, should we have extra food. I spent $97 and have enough food and drinks to feed at least 75 people breakfast burritos tomorrow. We fed approximately 80 burritos last Sunday evening. Some of the churches in town provide meals on various days of the week, but no one (oddly) provides a meal on Sundays. We are dedicated to providing a meal every Sunday. If we get enough funding, we will do more evenings as no one wants to be hungry, nor should anyone have to be.
