On Feb. 25, EMSA Director Liz Basnett will be a panelist at the Steinberg Institute's Vision 2030 Symposium in Sacramento, discussing strategies to reduce behavioral health hospitalizations through community interventions. The event will feature discussions on homelessness, incarceration, and other critical issues. Darrell Steinberg will deliver opening remarks and join a conversation on decriminalizing mental illness.

We look forward to hearing insights from Director Basnett and the speakers at the symposium!

A state Ambulance Strike Team has been strategically repositioned in Santa Clarita to bolster recovery efforts for the Hughes Fire which has grown rapidly due to strong Santa Ana winds. A second Ambulance Strike Team remains in Riverside. A heartfelt thanks to all first responders and wildfire recovery support personnel for their unwavering diligence and dedication.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the state Ambulance Strike Teams and CAL-MAT for their tireless work providing medical care and support to Californians and firefighters during these challenging times.

From the Palisades to the hills of Riverside and Sherman Oaks, the Ambulance Strike Teams have been on the move, adapting to red flag wind events in order to provide critical evacuations, shelter support, skilled nursing facility transports, 911 services and more.

Meanwhile, CAL-MAT teams in Pacific Palisades and Pasadena have been a beacon of care at CAL-FIRE base camps, ensuring that firefighters and support personnel receive the medical treatment they need.

As wildfire recovery spreads across Southern California, it's been the collaborative effort between state, local, and regional partners which has made all the difference. We deeply appreciate everyone’s service, dedication, and the countless lives you’ve helped protect.
