What can snorkel surveys tell us about salmon survival? Quite a bit. Each spring, biologists survey the lower American River to learn where juvenile salmon and steelhead feed, grow and find shelter. The information helps guide future habitat enhancement projects. Read the story by Susan Maxwell Skinner in the Carmichael Times: https://ow.ly/8iVf50Z2WTW

Behind every long-term agreement are people willing to stay at the table. Ron Stork with Friends of the River, Clyde MacDonald with Save the American River Association, Inc. (SARA), Jim Ray with North State BIA/MacKay & Somps, and Brian Halloway with Sacramento Association of REALTORS® helped negotiate both the original 2000 Water Forum Agreement and the Agreement—helping carry forward a regional commitment to collaboration, water reliability, and stewardship of the Lower American River. Thank you!
