Word of the Day 🤓📚📝

Students who plan to pursue graduate, business and law programs will likely be asked to submit Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) scores along with their graduate school application.

The GRE is a standardized test that is an admissions requirement for many graduate schools in the United States and Canada and a few other countries.

Vocabulary is tested in the GRE Verbal Reasoning section, which includes reading comprehension, sentence equivalence, and text completion multiple choice questions.

In the reading comprehension portion, test-takers are expected to use context clues to determine meanings of words.

The sentence equivalence and text completion questions require test-takers to know the meaning of words and to ‘fill in the blank(s)’ in order to make the sentences make sense.

CSUS McNair Scholars Program shares a Word of the Day to help aspiring GRE test-takers prepare. Through our Graduate Diversity program, we also offer a free GRE Prep course every Fall and Summer. Contact us for more information.
