Twenty-five years later, the pain of September 11 still echoes in the hearts of so many.

We remember the mothers and fathers who never came home. The sons and daughters whose futures were taken away. The friends, coworkers, firefighters, police officers, first responders, and countless innocent lives who became part of a day our nation will never forget.

We remember the phone calls that never came, the empty chairs at dinner tables, the families who had to learn how to live with a piece of their hearts missing.

But we also remember what happened in the days that followed. We remember a nation that stood together. Strangers embraced. Neighbors helping neighbors. Differences seemed smaller, and compassion mattered more than division.

That is the part of September 11 we must never lose.

Let us honor those we lost not only by remembering their names, but by remembering the humanity that brought us together. Let us choose kindness over hatred, compassion over division, and unity over fear.

For every life lost, every family changed, and every hero who ran toward danger when others ran away — we remember you.

We carry your memory with us.

Never forget. Never stop caring. Never stop standing together.

Please join us for our free 3-part webinar series for Western States Simulation Alliance faculty and subscribers featuring Dr. Jasline Moreno, PhD, RN, CNE, CHSE-A. This summer series explores the use of Objective Structured Teaching Encounters (OSTEs) to strengthen facilitator competence, reflective practice, equitable evaluation, and workforce readiness within simulation-based education.

Through interactive discussion and practical implementation strategies, participants will examine how OSTEs can support competency-based educator development, psychologically safe learning environments, structured feedback processes, and mitigation of implicit bias in learner evaluation and facilitation practices.

Session 3
Integrating OSTEs Into Faculty Development and Workforce Readiness
Initiatives

Wednesday, September 23 | 12:00 – 1:00 PST

Description:
This session explores the broader integration and impact of OSTEs within
healthcare education and workforce development initiatives. Participants
will examine how OSTEs may support longitudinal faculty development,
reflective practice, mentorship, communication, leadership development,
and competency-based educator preparation. Discussion will include the
role of OSTEs in promoting communities of practice, supporting workforce
preparedness, and advancing simulation quality across healthcare
education settings.

The session will also explore sustainability strategies, systems thinking,
and opportunities for scholarship and innovation related to OSTE
implementation. Participants will discuss how structured feedback and
competency-based evaluation processes can contribute to ongoing
facilitator growth, organizational learning, and the development of
sustainable simulation faculty development ecosystems.
