Our team had a blast celebrating Pride Month through learning, connection, and a little friendly competition. We put our knowledge to the test with an interactive LGBTQ+ History Jeopardy, honoring the stories, history, and contributions of our LGBTQ+ community.🌈

Meet Michelle! Michelle is a Social Worker II in our Pathways to Permanency program. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, San Francisco, and recently completed her Master of Social Work degree. Michelle has been a valued member of SSYAF, serving in a variety of supportive roles within our Pathways to Permanency program before stepping into her current position.

In her work, she helps create intentional matches for children and teens, ensuring they are placed in safe, secure, and supportive homes while their parents work toward reunification. Her greatest joy comes from seeing youth placed with concurrent foster (resource) families who provide stability, champion reunification efforts, and are prepared to offer a permanent, loving home if reunification is not possible.

Michelle is passionate about continuous learning and professional growth. She finds daily inspiration in collaborating with a dedicated team whose commitment to serving children and families is truly contagious.

Fun Fact: Outside of work, Michelle enjoys traveling, gardening, hiking, and taking on home improvement projects.

WarCry MC Hangtown showed up in full force at Poor Red's BBQ, bringing our Placerville community together to host a backpack drive and raise funds for the youth we serve.

Summer may have just begun, but it’s never too early to set our kids up for success. Thanks to the incredible generosity of WarCry MC Hangtown and everyone who came out to support, local youth will start the new school year equipped with the supplies and the confidence they need to thrive.

This recognition reflects the time, care, collaboration, and commitment of our teams across Sacramento, Yolo, and El Dorado counties to delivering high-quality, family-focused services for youth and families.

Our team had a blast connecting with families, sharing resources, and celebrating the incredible youth and caregivers touched by foster care, adoption, guardianship, and kinship care.
