On May 13, 2024, Officer Adam Yu of the Long Beach Police Department responded to a crash involving a stolen vehicle following a freeway pursuit.

After helping remove multiple occupants, Officer Yu learned one passenger remained trapped as flames began engulfing the vehicle. He led fellow officers back and helped free the passenger moments before the vehicle became fully engulfed.

On October 26, 2024, Sergeant George Imirian responded to reports of gunfire and a homicide scene when the armed suspect returned and opened fire on his patrol vehicle.

Despite sustaining multiple gunshot wounds, Sgt. Imirian continued the pursuit and engaged the suspect. Before collapsing from blood loss, he called for medical assistance for both himself and the suspect—helping end the incident and prevent further harm.
