Community Alert: CalFresh Benefits Temporarily Paused

Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, CalFresh (SNAP) benefits will not be distributed for November. This means many families in our community may not receive funds on their EBT cards until federal funding is restored.

At Love Action Int, we’re stepping up to help bridge the gap and we need our community’s support now more than ever.

Here’s How You Can Help:

Donate Food: Non-perishable items like rice, beans, canned fruits, vegetables, and proteins.

Give Financially: Your donations help us purchase fresh and culturally relevant foods for local families.

Donate Supplies: Boxes, grocery bags, and packaging materials are needed for food distributions.

Volunteer: Help us sort, pack, and distribute food to families impacted by this pause.

Every act of love makes a difference, no matter how small.

A Big Thanks to everyone who made NNO 2025 at Freedom Park a Big Hit for the families in our neighborhood!!! Shout out to North Highlands Recreation and Park District! Shout out to Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Shout out to Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Dept. Shout out to all the kids going back to school and to all of their parents for bringing them! Shout out to all of the vendors who came out! Shout out to all my staff at LAI and the volunteers who worked both NNO's! Shout out to DJ Cali and Shout out to our Sax player! We gave out 400 backpacks at Freedom Park and we had a list of 68 families that still needed backpacks! Shout out to Life Matters, Inc. we'll be able to get those additional backpacks to families!!
