Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency

Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency Created by the City & County of Sacramento to revitalize communities & create affordable housing. All offices are closed every other Friday.

SHRA is Sacramento's lead public and affordable housing agency and one of the largest residential rental property owners in Sacramento. SHRA manages over 3,100 units of affordable housing and administers approximately 13,000 rental assistance vouchers each month. SHRA uses a variety of financing tools to expand housing opportunities by rehabilitating and preserving older properties, building new r

ental and ownership housing, and boosting homeownership through mortgage assistance. SHRA has assisted in the production of more than 24,300 affordable housing units in the past 20 years. SHRA works proactively to create permanent supportive housing with social service partners for the hardest to house, and finds solutions to uplift disenfranchised communities. SHRA business hours are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday by appointment. SHRA has developed a policy for social media. The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for appropriate use of SHRA sponsored social media sites. Content that is in violation of this policy may be deleted. The complete policy may be viewed on the SHRA website at https://www.shra.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Social-Media-Policy.pdf.

What a great day in Sacramento! We are thankful to our Congressional delegation for all their support in making the 21st Century Road to Housing Act a reality. This legislation is set to strengthen the tools that SHRA uses to preserve and modernize our public housing portfolio as well as to assist developers more quickly and efficiently with gap financing to further fuel the pipeline that builds affordable housing. This is a positive outcome for the families who so desperately need affordable housing in the City and County.
