First come, first serve on this opportunity -- our nonprofit partner needs this shade canopy built NEXT WEEK!! Thank you for considering!

BUILDING SHADE STRUCTURE - West Sacramento
Got experience with assembling structures by using bolts, nuts and fasteners? Assist New Roots Farm in establishing a *new* shade canopy over two shipping containers! May be working on ladders or on the roof of a shipping container.

All volunteers must be registered in advance.
*48-hour registration cut-off.

New Roots Farm, a program of the International Rescue Committee, helps refugees re-establish their ties to the land, celebrate their heritage, and nourish themselves and their neighbors by planting strong roots in Sacramento. On this new small farm in Sacramento, participating refugees have more space to exercise their farming expertise and business skills. On these plots, farmers grow larger quantities of vegetables and sell to local markets, as well as feed their families.

River City Volunteers worked their magic and made up 50 Weekend Food Bags for unsheltered children. These bags, along with a handmade card, will go to local shelters and family resource centers to combat food insecurity for our little ones. Thank you all so much!
