With the National Weather Service issuing a heat advisory, the City will activate the Outreach and Engagement Center and the Sam & Bonnie Pannell Community Center as cooling centers where residents can find relief from the heat.

The OEC (3615 Auburn Blvd.) will operate from 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22 to 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 24.

The Sam & Bonnie Pannell Community Center (2450 Meadowview Road) will operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22.

🚨 Did you know there is a new $10,000 fine for illegal fireworks in Sacramento?

is urging residents to report illegal fireworks and stick to “safe and sane” ones this July 4.

🔹 Fines now reach up to $10,000 - including for use near parks, schools, river parkways, and other high risk areas.
🔹 Property owners can be held responsible if fireworks are used on their premises.
🔹 “Safe and sane” fireworks can only be used: June 29-July 4: 9a.m. - 10p.m.

Report illegal fireworks using the Sacramento Fire Department Community App or call 916-808-3473 (FIRE).

With the issuing a heat advisory, the City will activate the Outreach and Engagement Center and the Sam & Bonnie Pannell Community Center as cooling centers.

The OEC (3615 Auburn Blvd.) will operate from 10 a.m. Friday, May 30 to 8 a.m. Sunday, June 1.

The Sam & Bonnie Pannell Community Center (2450 Meadowview Road) will operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 30.

will provide free rides to and from the cooling centers. To ride for free, screenshot or print the flyer and present it to the bus operator upon boarding, or show light rail fare inspection staff upon request. Only valid to and from activated weather respite centers.
