The 2026 BENT Film Festival Grant is back!

Founded in 1993, BENT Sacramento LGBTQ+ Film Festival (formerly the Sacramento International Gay & Le***an Film Festival) had a rich, q***r history and ran for 30 years as the longest-running film festival in Sacramento and the only LGBTQ+ one.

Whether you're exploring q***r identity, history, or storytelling through film or visual art, this grant is here to support your work.

The grant will award $1,500 to support creative projects that explore LGBTQ+ experiences, history, or perspectives, particularly those that engage youth, art students, or gallery audiences.⁠

The Sacramento Film + Media Rebate Program is still accepting applications for the 2025–26 fiscal year, but time is starting to wind down.

Productions filming within Sacramento city limits can still qualify for up to $250,000 in reimbursements.

This program supports large-scale film and TV projects and is made possible through one-time Measure U funding, helping grow local jobs, strengthen our economy, and keep Sacramento in the spotlight.

Production Alert: Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Tax Credit Application Windows

The California Film Commission (CFC) will administer six application windows for this upcoming fiscal year, two of Tax Credit Program 4.0; the application, phase two, and Credit Allocation Letter (approval letter) dates are now posted. The CFC website provides updated informational documents to assist tax credit applicants during the application process. Applicants are strongly advised to review each resource prior to project budgeting and scheduling.
