What a turnout at our community conversation at The Grotto this week! Huge thanks to The Grotto for hosting us and for being the kind of local business that makes Rio Linda feel like home.

Hearing your stories and your hopes for our community colleges is exactly why I’m running. Real change comes from listening. Supporting spots like The Grotto also means investing directly in Area 1 businesses.

My family and I attended National Night Out events across our community, from Rio Linda to Natomas to Del Paso Heights, meeting neighbors, first responders, and local leaders who are working every day to keep our neighborhoods safe and strong.

These events are a reminder that community college success doesn’t happen in isolation. It’s connected to safe neighborhoods, strong families, and neighbors who show up for each other. That’s the same spirit I want to bring to the Los Rios Board: showing up, listening, and fighting for working families across Area 1.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to talk with me about what matters to you and your family. Let’s keep building a community, and a community college district, that works for everyone.

At 12 years old, my life completely changed overnight. Before my mom’s recovery, she asked my siblings and me to make her one promise.

I’ve spent the rest of my life keeping it. from cleaning dorm rooms just to afford room and board, to negotiating federal student loan policy in Washington, D.C.

Los Rios’ apprenticeship partnerships open real doors turning students into skilled tradespeople with career opportunities.

I’m ready to bring my track record as a student advocate to the Los Rios Board as Trustee for Area 1 fighting for affordable, accessible education for every student in Natomas, North Highlands, Rio Linda, Del Paso Heights, and McClellan, and for all students across the entire Los Rios district who deserve a real shot at a better future.
