This leadership program from the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration prepares officers for the responsibilities of supervising and guiding others. Sgt. Some worries are hard to set down, especially when someone you love might struggle to communicate or become disoriented in an emergency. The Sachse Police Department's Take Me Home program is here to help. 💙

This free service lets officers know who they're helping and how to reach you. During registration, families provide a photo, basic details, and caregiver contacts. That secure information is available only to public safety personnel, so officers can bring your loved one home quickly and safely.

It works the other way too. If someone in the program goes missing, their details are ready for first responders right away.

Signing up is simple and free. Register online, submit the form by email, or call 469-429-9824 for help.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by Public Safety Day on Saturday! Our officers loved meeting so many residents and spending the morning getting to know our community. Thank you to Sachse Fire-Rescue and all of our partners for helping make the day a success. Check out the post below for a few of our favorite moments. 🚓

The Sachse Police Department stands with the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office as they mourn the loss of Deputy Adam Sherifi, who died in the line of duty on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Deputy Sherifi, 31, was shot while assisting the Canton Police Department with serving felony warrants south of Canton. He is survived by his wife and three children.

Our thoughts are with his family, his fellow deputies, the Canton Police Department, and the entire Van Zandt County community. Deputy Sherifi gave his life serving others, and we will honor his sacrifice. 💙

Step one: open Facebook Marketplace "just to look." Step two: somehow you now own a porch swing, a mini fridge, and a mystery box just labeled "misc."

Whatever you scored, make the handoff at the Sachse Police Department's Safe Trade Zones:

Two dedicated parking spaces outside the Public Safety building, in a well-lit, high-traffic area with 24/7 camera surveillance. Look for the "Safe Trade" signs.

Safe Trade Room inside the Public Safety building foyer (3815 Sachse Road, Building D), open during business hours. Just stop by the reception desk to use it.

Want a little extra reassurance? Officers can check serial numbers to confirm items aren't stolen. 🔍

Both locations are also available for child custody exchanges.

Thank you to all the neighborhoods that welcomed our officers into their National Night Out block parties last night! Our team enjoyed stopping by to meet neighbors, answer questions, and share an evening of community connection. Events like this remind us that strong neighborhoods are built on relationships, and we're grateful to be invited into yours. 🚓

Take a look through the album for highlights from the night, and tag yourself or your neighbors in the comments! 📸

Congratulations to Ofc. Emily Wright and Ofc. Mark Samano on being honored at the North Texas Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) annual awards banquet on Tuesday, Sept. 29! Ofc. Wright received the 2026 Outstanding Service award, and Ofc. Samano received the 2026 Rookie of the Year award, both for their efforts in DWI enforcement.

This is the second year in a row that Ofc. Wright has received the Outstanding Service award. Her continued commitment to DWI enforcement has made a real difference in keeping impaired drivers off our roads, and we're proud to have her serving our community.

Ofc. Samano joined the department as a recruit this past year after serving Sachse in our Parks department. He has quickly made an impact, and his DWI enforcement work is helping make our community safer. He was unable to attend the ceremony but will receive his award at a later date.

Thank you both for your dedication to keeping our roads safe.

Our officers joined Mayor Jeff Bickerstaff, Councilmember Tim Legh-Page, Councilmember Lindsay Buhler, Fire Chief Marty Wade, and members of Sachse Fire-Rescue at Cox Elementary yesterday to welcome students back to school. Police Chief Bryan Sylvester and our team enjoyed the high fives, smiles, and friendly conversations at the door.

Thank you to Wylie ISD and Cox Elementary for being such great partners. Building positive relationships with our youngest residents is one of the best parts of this job.

Next Wednesday, we'll be at Whitt Elementary and Armstrong Elementary. Come say hi!
