'Pangea' meaning 'all lands', accurately describes the theory that millions of years ago all continents were joined together in one enormous landmass before it split up. The theory goes on to say until they reconfigure they will continue to drift. Pangea Development, LLC was established in 2006 to “reconfigure” fractionated Native American “allotted” lands forming an undivided land of opportunity.

Correlative to the beautiful designs of a traditional Pima basket, Pangea intricately weaves individual elements together to create a complete and strong single artistic masterpiece. Joseph Perez, a Gila River Indian Community Tribal Member established Pangea to further a dream of his great Uncle Ardle Ruiz. This dream will bring landowners of segmented allotments together to develop the land for the Native owners. Perez along with his wife Christi, a marketing executive and Mr. Stephen Drake, a prominent financial expert and long-time advocate for Native American Rights and Self Sufficiency, joined Mr. Perez in pursuit of this dream in 2006. With the passing of his great Uncle, Mr. Perez is more dedicated and passionate about fulfilling this dream more than ever and is uniting this land through its respective owners and will create a paradigm shift under the banner of progress for his ancestors and his people. The passion and dedication of Mr. Perez and his great Uncle has been the primary focus of Pangea for the last 7 years. Pangea is in the process of leasing approximately 6,000 acres of fractured allotted land parcels south central portion of Phoenix, Arizona and borders the upscale neighborhood of Ahwatukee (see maps attached). These parcels are “allotted land” on the Gila River Indian Community (GRIC).

From: Joseph M Perez to Gila River Indian Community. I told you but no one listened.

The Gric Landowners tried to save South Mountain but instead, tribal council motions were made against us, the tribe filed a law suit against us and in the end we won the law suit and they reversed all the evil they did to us but it was too late.

South Mountain will forever be damaged because a few Community Members who were so selfish they choose to hate and now we all suffer the damage that could have been our economic revolution away from gaming. Their isn't even an exit for our brand new Vee Quiva Casino! I told you...

From Joe: It is with immeasurable sadness in my heart and sadness that in the end I was right. This comes from deep within my spirit as a Native American and Member of the Gila River Indian Community. It goes to all the "NO BUILDERS" of the Community, to all of Tribal Council who called me a lier, a criminal, a fraud, called me unethical, said "I did things" and used your political power to try and bury me, to every one of you who did not believe and who said it was wrong of me to take the position I did, to every person that protested my business, to evey one of you who carried a banner that attacked me, attacked my family and most of all, to all of you that threatened my life, who said "We'll kill you", "We'll kill your kids", "We'll kill your family", because I said "its going to be built", to every single one of you "Haters" and you know who you are. To all of you: I TOLD YOU... and to the Gric Landowners, we tried with our hearts to save South Mountain, now tell them: We Told you...

The Arizona Department of Transportation has a big announcement about the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway. ADOT says a new agreement to build all of it at once will get the job done three years faster and save over $100 million.

From Joe: As I said before, I told you...
GRIC Government should have done with the People wanted, leave T.O. alone. If the T.O. casino is going to lower how much money we make at our casinos, then that is our fault. GRIC Government should have met with our Sister tribe and worked a deal, instead they listened to the money corrupt lawyers. It is shameful that the government didn't stand with T.O. but instead listened to lawyers who don't know the kind of people we are and fought T.O. Over $13 million waisted, that's money that could have gone to kids, Elders, education, housing but instead it goes to money corrupt lawyers that knew we could never win. People of Gila River, we must take our government back. We must Stand for Our Rez, be the REZiSTANCE.
