Friends of Rye Nature Center Our grounds are open everyday from dawn to dusk. Our building and offices are open from 9 to 5, Monday through Saturday.

Dog are not allowed on the grounds or trails of the Rye Nature Center.

The Great Leaf Hunt has returned to the 47 acres! 🍁 All October long, keep your eyes on the ground — find the largest, smallest, coolest, or most colorful leaf you can and bring it to the Nature Center. Submissions will be on display in the museum and we’ll celebrate all the unbe-leaf-able entries with an afternoon of fun on November 14. All ages welcome!

A tremendous thank you to everyone who joined us for Oktoberfest 2026! More than 400 attendees came together to support nature—and we had plenty of fun along the way.

A new year at Rye Nature Center is here. 🌿

Our 2026–2027 Program Guide is out, and there’s a lot happening in our bigger backyard this year. We can only show you 10 pages here on social, but the full guide is 24 pages of goodness!

Some favorites are back: Square Dance, Oktoberfest, 47 for 47 Fall Festival, Old-Fashioned Winter’s Afternoon, Fairy House Festival, afterschool programs, School’s Out Workshops, public programs, summer camp, and more.

And there are some exciting new additions, too! We’re introducing the Eco-Leadership Academy for high school students, adding three weeks of June’s Out!, opening our pavilion for rentals, and inviting the community to learn more about the major Blind Brook restoration project happening at the Nature Center.

Plus: Forest Preschool, NatureStation, adult and teen programs, family hikes, campouts, maple sugaring, candle making, foraging, gardening, volunteering—and plenty more.
