🎣🪩 One more sleep until the Kiwanis Fishing Derby! 🪩🎣

The Rutland Kiwanis Fishing Derby has been going strong since the 1970s, and tomorrow we get to keep the tradition alive for another year.

We wanted to share these photos from past derbies — starting with a throwback from the ’70s — to celebrate the history, the families, the volunteers, and all the kids who have made this event special for generations.

Join us tomorrow morning for fishing, prizes, family fun, and a great local tradition.

🎣 The Kiwanis Fishing Derby is only 2 days away — and our local sponsors really came through! 🎣

We want to give a huge THANK YOU to the businesses and community supporters who donated prizes for this year’s derby. Because of them, families will have a chance to win some great raffle items while supporting local youth programs, including Key Club.

🎣 Come to the Kiwanis Fishing Derby for the fish… and leave with the whole boat! 🚤

This year’s Fishing Derby (Saturday May 2 at Combination Pond) just got even better — we’ll be raffling off a great fishing boat during the event!

The raffle prize is a 14-foot Starcraft deep-V hull boat with a galvanized trailer and a 9.9 HP Yamaha electric-start motor in like-new condition. It’s a perfect setup for getting out on the water and making some memories.

🎟️ Raffle Tickets:
1 ticket: $10
3 tickets: $25
7 tickets: $50

Proceeds support the Kiwanis Club and help fund local youth activities, including the Key Club.

Bring the family, enjoy the derby, and take a chance at winning a boat that’s ready for the water!

Good morning Rutland! We hope you are are excited for this year's annual Fishing Derby, taking place this Saturday, May 2 at Combination Pond!

We are grateful for all the local businesses who have chosen to support the event with donations and fantastic prizes that will be up for grabs for our eager anglers.

Today we are highlighting Quest Frames, who has generously donated a $150 gift certificate for custom framing and Wicked Barbering (https://wickedbarbering.glossgenius.com/), who is pleased to offer a complimentary kid's haircut!
