The Rutland Regional Planning Commission provides expertise on land use planning and bylaws, transportation planning, emergency management, energy projects, economic development, housing, and brownfield redevelopment. The RRPC is known for its extensive Geographic Information System and mapping program. Attention All Outdoor Enthusiasts!

In order to provide the public with a quality recreational trail experience, the Vermont Rail Trails Program is conducting a survey of all current users of the Delaware & Hudson Rail Trail.

This survey will take between 8-10 minutes to complete. Survey results will be used for improvement planning - from added amenities like parking along the trail to better connections with trail towns.

Survey results will be shared with the Vermont Rail Trails Program and the Rail Trail Council. Thank you in advanced and happy trails!

Wallingford has developed a draft goal and actions to mitigate the impacts of natural hazards in the Town.

Help the Planning Team ensure they are on the right track by taking their online survey at https://tinyurl.com/wallingford-lhmp26-survey2.

Physical copies may also be picked up at the Town Hall (75 School Street) or the Gilbert Hart Library (14 US-7 S). The survey will be open until Friday, October 2, and physical copies must be submitted to the Town Clerk at 4:00 PM.

The Town of Castleton has received a grant from the Vermont Agency of Transportation to design and construct sidewalk, crosswalk, and bicycle lane improvements along Main Street, as well as ornamental lighting.

The Town has contracted with Fuss & O'Neill to provide engineering investigations and develop construction plans. The design phase will run from August 2026 to March 2029. Community input will play an important role in shaping the project, and there will be opportunities to learn more and provide feedback as the design progresses.

Attention, Pawlet residents and interested parties: Do you want to gather with neighbors to celebrate your community’s achievements in energy resilience? Then mark your calendars for Friday, September 18, at 4:00 PM for a geothermal groundbreaking ceremony at the Town Green (122 School Street).

Funded by the Municipal Energy Resilience program, the construction of this new renewable energy system will provide heating and cooling for the Pawlet Town Office and Public Library while reducing energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

The Town of Pittsford is updating its 2021 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan! The Plan serves as a guidebook for identifying and addressing local risks and vulnerabilities, helping Pittsford become more resilient to natural hazards.

For the month of August, we want to hear from Pittsford residents about what natural hazards you are most concerned about! Share your feedback by taking our online survey at https://tinyurl.com/pittsford-lhmp27-survey.

Paper copies are also available at the Town Office and Maclure Library and must be submitted to the Town Manager by Friday, August 21. Also keep an eye out for our pop-up table at Pittsford Day on Saturday, August 1st to let us know your priorities with colorful stickers!

From July 20 to August 3, submit any comments you may have regarding the 2026 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan update to [email protected] or [email protected]. You may also attend the August 3, 2026 Selectboard meeting at the Town Hall to provide your feedback in person.
