๐Ÿ‹ HELP US IDENTIFY THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR VANDALISM

The Rutland City Police Department is investigating a recent act of vandalism to the popular whale mural in Downtown Rutland.

We are asking residents, business owners, and anyone with surveillance cameras in the area of 78 Center Street to please check their footage from the overnight hours of Friday, August 28, 2026, for anything suspicious that may assist investigators in identifying the individuals responsible.

๐Ÿ“น Have video that may help?
You can submit surveillance footage directly to the Rutland City Police Department through the public video submission portal linked below. You do not need to know whether your footage contains something importantโ€”if you have cameras in the area, please take a look and submit anything that appears unusual or potentially relevant.

Even a few seconds of footage, a vehicle passing through the area, or someone walking nearby could provide an important clue.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Submit video here: https://rutlandcitypdvt.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/26rl011900

Thank you to our Downtown businesses and community members for helping us protect the places and artwork that make Rutland special.

If you have information about this incident, please contact the Rutland City Police Department.

๐ŸŽ‰ Celebrating 15 Years of Service: Nora Moore ๐ŸŽ‰

Today we celebrate Records Clerk Nora Moore and 15 years of service to the Rutland City Police Department!

For 15 years, Nora has been one of those people who somehow manages to be involved in just about everything. If there is a project, event, committee, newsletter, or program that needs help, there is a pretty good chance Nora has had a hand in it!

Nora spent nearly a decade serving as the Union Secretary and has previously served the Rutland PBA as Secretary/Treasurer and President. She had also been a huge part of the production and distribution of the Wales Street Blues, keeping everyone informed and, undoubtedly, occasionally making sure the rest of us actually knew what was going on!

She has been a tremendous help with Shop with a Cop, putting in the time and effort behind the scenes to help make the program special for local kids and families.

And because apparently working at the PD, serving the union, helping with community programs and producing the Wales Street Blues wasn't enough, Nora has also been a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician for more than 10 years, helping families make sure their kids are safely buckled up.

For 15 years, Nora has been a familiar face, a reliable helping hand, and someone who is always willing to pitch in. Her dedication to the department and our community is something we truly appreciate.

Congratulations on 15 years, Nora!

Thank you, Nora, for everything you do for the RCPD, our members, and our community.
