Rutland City Firefighters IAFF Local 2323 The Offical Page For Rutland City Firefighters local 2323 Welcome to the Rutland Professional Fire Fighter's page, IAFF Local 2323.

Local 2323 is the exclusive bargaining unit representing the men and women of the Rutland, Vermont Fire Department. The local represents the permanent full time, as well as the part time firefighters of the City of Rutland. Currently our rank and file membership is 28 strong. Our members are dedicated to protecting the lives and property of the citizens of Rutland City, the Town of Mendon, as well as many private contracts. Our Fire Fighters serve the citizens of Rutland with a wide range of services, including but not limited to structural fire fighting, technical rescue, hazardous materials response, and fire prevention education. The Rutland Professional Fire Fighters also have a proud affiliation with the International Association of Fire Fighters and the Professional Firefighters of Vermont. All members of Local 2323 and their families are aware of the danger that is associated with our career as Professional Fire Fighters. We accept this responsibility and thank the citizens and guests of the City of Rutland for the opportunity to serve them.

Submit your application today!

Application period open through the 2nd of October, 2026; testing to occur late October/early November 2026.

Applicants for testing shall hold a Pro-Board FF 1 or equivalent, as determined by the City of Rutland Fire Department.

Applications may be filled out through the QR code located on the attached flyer, the City of Rutland website, or a paper application may be mailed or emailed to the locations stated on the attached flyer. Please supplement the application with a resume and any pertinent certifications and training records.
