As the 572d BEB reloads after an intensive overseas training mission conducting joint operations with the 86th Brigade and alongside our NATO partners, the BEB would also like to congratulate the continued success of Soldiers within its formation. Starting with Alpha Company, one of the BEB’s two premier engineer companies, the promotions of SPC Holt, SPC Puffer, and SPC Forrest, alongside 1LT Rode, continue to highlight the dedication and bright future of our junior NCOs and Officers. Special recognition and thanks also extends to SFC Cheney, SSG Murdock and SFC Livingstone for their over 20 years of exceptional service. Additional appreciation is extended to MAJ Hamlin and MAJ Stawicki, under whose tenure as battalion staff leaders, have deliberately overseen the heightened readiness and interoperability of the BEB. Keep up the good work Soldiers! “Sharpen the Axe, Seize the Mountain”

Today marks a special day in American and world history, where 80 years ago, World War II in Europe came to an end with Allied victory! Millions of Allied service members contributed to the war effort in North Africa, Italy, France and Western Europe, ultimately forcing N**i Germany into surrender. Despite the jubilation, meanwhile, the war in the Pacific Theater raged on, where the precursor to the 572 BEB, then known as the 43rd Infantry Division, was engaged in heavy combat against the Japanese in the Philippines. Together, our Greatest Generation sacrificed immensely to ensure our freedoms are enjoyed today. The 572 BEB is honored to steward our Army, entering its 250th year of service, and continue to pay homage to our veterans who served in the defining conflict of World History! “Sharpen the Axe, Seize the Mountain”

This past weekend, Soldiers across the 572 BEB were hard at work preparing for intensive training this summer. All the while, annual competitions enabled Engineers and Medics alike to showcase their Warrior capabilities, further highlighting their commitment to honing their crafts and enhancing the readiness of units. Special recognition to newly promoted SGT Dionne, who enters into the hallowed tradition of the NCO Corps. SSG Hartley and 1LT Repreza also were promoted, rising the ranks of leadership commensurate with their leadership. Collectively, the 572 BEB continues to welcome and develop Soldiers who embody commitment to duty and the organization. Congratulations to them and their families!

As winter rages, the 572nd Engineer Battalion embraced the elements to conduct its cold weather training and refine their essential engineering skills. Tasks included winter weather survival training, land navigation and over-snow mobility, austere environment communication practice, and culminating field exercises highlighted by demolition operations. Altogether, BEB units continue to hone their skills, unit cohesion, and warrior tasks en route to forging unit combat readiness.

As winter endures, so too does the 572 BEB indomitable spirit to train in austere conditions meant to simulate the modern battlefield. By conducting over-snow mobility, small unit reconnaissance and tactics, as well as survival skill training, Engineers are able to thrive in harsh conditions, and turn weather and geography into a combat multiplier. Units across the BEB are hard at work this weekend, fully immersed in specialized skill training, all the while honing their unit cohesion and discipline. “Sharpen the Axe, Seize the Mountain”
