Rutherfordton Enrichment Council REC - The Hut It is available for use by these groups at little to no charge. It is available to the public to rent for parties, receptions, and events.

The Hut was created to provide a permanent home to youth-oriented groups and programs including Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, youth sports and Church youth groups. Current rates are $200 for Fri, Sat, Sun and $100 for M-Th. You get The Hut for 24 hours, midnight-midnight. We don't do partial-day rentals. We require a $250 damage deposit that is returned after the event if there is no damage

or cleaning to be done. Inside, there are 12 round 60" tables and 4 - 8' serving tables and 70 chairs. Max Capacity is 70 and if you set up all the tables, it is full with no extra space. Renter will need to provide all serving dishes, plates, etc. Currently, there is no wifi in the building but cell service is good. Current rates for The Hut are $200 for Friday, Saturday or Sunday. $100 for weekdays. We require a $250 damage/cleaning deposit that is refundable after the event as long as there is no damage or cleaning to be done.
We now have the ability to accept credit/debit cards for payment with a 4% handling fee.

Great fund raiser Saturday night cleared over $800. Apologies to the we has to turn away. Next time please buy your tickets early so we have enough. Many thanks to Boy Scout Troop 132 helpers especially Mr Evans.

Open House was a success. Lots of positive feedback about the facility. Now we need to get it used.
If you know of a group that wants an available, consistent meeting place, we need to get you access to the calendar and the building. If the group is youth oriented according to our by-laws, there will be no charge for its use.

Our Story

The Hut was created to provide a permanent home to youth-oriented groups and programs including Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, youth sports and Church youth groups. It is available for use by these groups at little to no charge. The rental fee is $200/day for Friday, Saturday or Sunday. $100/day for Monday-Thursday. We also ask for a $250 damage/cleaning deposit that is refundable after the event if there is no damage or cleaning to be done.

The Hut is suitable for up to 70 people. There are 12 - 60” round tables that seat 6-7 people and 4 - 8 ft long serving tables. We do not provide tablecloths or any cooking equipment or serving utensils so you will need to provide those yourself.
