Don’t forget - our opening reception for the Americans and the Holocaust traveling exhibition is TODAY, 10/26 at 6:00 PM. Join us on the main floor of Prescott Memorial Library for light refreshments and opening remarks from Kathryn Bertrand, Library & Archives Specialist, Dr. Donna Thomas, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Michelle Riggs-Waller, University Archivist, and Dr. Jerry Sanson, Professor Emeritus at LSU Alexandria and member of the Louisiana Historical Association Company of Fellows. We hope you can join us as we welcome this impactful and informative exhibit to our campus and community.

Don’t forget - our opening reception for the Americans and the Holocaust traveling exhibition is TOMORROW, 10/26 at 6:00 PM. Join us on the main floor of Prescott Memorial Library for light refreshments and opening remarks from Library Executive Director Angela Dunnington, Dr. Donna Thomas, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Jerry Sanson, Professor Emeritus at LSU Alexandria and member of the Louisiana Historical Association Company of Fellows. We’re thrilled to announce that Prescott Memorial Library has been chosen to host "Americans and the Holocaust", a traveling exhibition from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the American Library Association. The exhibition will be located on the main floor of the library from October 26 - December 3, 2026. Additionally, we’ll be hosting a variety of events throughout our exhibit period. Stay tuned for the full program schedule and more details!

Prescott Memorial Library invites you to the opening reception of Americans and the Holocaust, a powerful exhibition exploring one of history’s darkest chapters and the choices made in its shadow.

The opening event will feature remarks from university and library leadership, followed by introductory comments from a local historian. Guests will then have the opportunity to engage with the exhibition and engage with its stories, documents, and historical perspectives.

We hope you join us for this meaningful occasion as Prescott Memorial Library welcomes Americans and the Holocaust to our campus and community.

We are so excited to host Sigma Tau Delta and The School of Literature and Language as they join the fight against censorship and book banning this Wednesday, October 7th from 9:30 - 11:30 on the front steps of the library. Join us in celebrating the freedom to read! Stop by to hear readings from banned and challenged books and show your support for the freedom of speech. We’d love to see you there!
