BBQ season is here! If you plan on firing up the grill this Memorial Day Weekend, please keep these safety tips in mind to avoid fire hazards (and burnt food).

✅ Clean out any grease buildup from last season

✅Your grill should be placed well away from your home and deck railings

✅Never leave your grill unattended

✅If you're using a propane grill, check the gas tank hose for leaks before using it

Be safe and happy grilling!

FDIC2024!!
Documentation is the cornerstone of every
EMS run, and getting it wrong can not only mean life or death, but it can cost the EMT/paramedic a career. Unfortunately, the current culture of EMS typically means run reports are finished or even started back at the station almost as an afterthought; however, documentation should be considered a part of patient care and should hold the same weight. When good documentation is not put at the forefront of training and importance, you leave yourself open to legal litigation, which is easily prevented with proper training. This presentation will cover best practices in documentation and how to avoid the legal ramifications when run reports are not written clearly.

You guys did it again this year. So many toys have been donated to the Salvation Army. All of the donations you see in this picture are strictly from Ruston. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your donations this year.

Thank you for all of your food donations. We set another record this year. Last year we hit 1250 ponds and this year, we hit just over 1300 pounds. Thank you all! All food donations go to the Nourish Food Bank.

We are happy to announce that two of our members have received conditional offers for employment for paid, full-time departments.
Blake Buchler got his conditional for the Tacoma Fire Department and Elliot Morton got his conditional for South Kitsap Fire and Rescue. Though we are beyond proud and excited for these two gentlemen, it will be quite a loss for Ruston. We wish them all the best in their new departments.

Your Ruston Firefighters will be handing out candy on Halloween night from 5pm until we run out of candy. Stop by to say hello and take a tour of the fire engine. We also have plenty of candy bags if you are in need. Just stop by the station to pick one up. Remember to be safe while trick-or-treating by using flashlights, use masks that you can see well from and wear something reflective on your costume. See you then.
