🐾 Bring pets indoors.
🏠 Check up on relatives and neighbors.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1 immediately if you or someone near is exhibiting signs of heat-related illness!

Please review the proposed updates to the land use map(s) and share your thoughts in the comments section provided. Zoomed-in maps of specific change areas are provided for reference.

The Comprehensive Plan update guides County land use from 2026 - 2034; the plan is reviewed for updates every five years per VA Code.

For residents’ safety, Campbell County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Commissioner of the Revenue, will soon assign identification badges for any door-to-door sales representatives licensed to operate in the locality. Door-to-door solicitor licenses issued by the Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office are only valid for Campbell County. Solicitors within the town limits of Brookneal or Altavista must apply for separate licenses in those jurisdictions.
