Franklin County offices will be closed Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day.

County garbage routes will be a day behind schedule.

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE – FRIDAY, AUGUST 14 🚧

In preparation for the Franklin County Watermelon Festival, being held Friday, August 14 and Saturday, August 15, Jackson Avenue will be closed from Cotaco Street to Lawrence Street beginning at 8:00 AM on Friday, August 14.

⚠️ Citizens traveling to the Franklin County Courthouse and surrounding downtown area are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution around the closure.

Please see the attached map and post for additional information regarding the road closure and festival preparations.

-Franklin Street will be closed from Jackson Ave. to Washington Ave.

-Jackson Avenue will be closed from Cotaco St. to Lawrence St.
-Washington Avenue will be closed from Lawrence St. to Lauderdale St.
