The City of Russell Fire Department will be conducting a controlled burn at our training facility tomorrow, 5/30/2026, at 9:00 A.M.

There may be heavy smoke at times during the burn. This burn will be located southeast of town, near the wastewater facility.

The Russell Police Department and City of Russell, Kansas are aware of several “door-to-door” type solicitors in the Russell area.

Solicitors MUST obtain a Solicitor’s License from the city before legally soliciting.

If you think the persons going door-to-door aren’t licensed or are acting suspicious, please report them to Russell County 911 Communications at 785.483.2121, so an officer can be dispatched to check them out.

As a general rule, City of Russell departments DO NOT endorse individual contractors.
