The City of Russell Fire Department was busy last night! We were asked to help pack meals for Feeding the Future. This week, the department partnered together to pack 400 meals to help ensure local students had access to food throughout the extended Memorial Day weekend break, covering Friday through Tuesday. We were fortunate to have the support of much of our department, along with our Explorers and even a junior firefighter, making quick work of the project.

Following the meal packaging effort, one of our newest recruits completed the department’s physical agility test and nearly set a new department record in the process.

Our department has a busy summer ahead filled with training opportunities, community events, and department activities. If you are looking for a meaningful way to serve and give back to your community, we encourage you to submit an application and join our team.

Are you a middle school or high school student interested in the fire service? Our Explorer Program is always looking for motivated young individuals who want to learn more about emergency services and become involved in their community.

t’s National EMS Appreciation Week, and the City of Russell Fire Department is proud to recognize the outstanding professionals of Russell County EMS for their dedication, expertise, and service to our community.

Because our department responds to motor vehicle accidents throughout the City of Russell and parts of Russell County, our team also has multiple EMTs who work for us alongside their roles with Russell County EMS. When the City of Russell Fire Department responds to injury accidents, our department deploys a minimum number of EMS-certified personnel on our rescue truck. These individuals are certified as EMT's or higher. This allows us to assist EMS personnel with patient care while also providing critical medical support to occupants who may require extrication from a vehicle.

The City of Russell Fire Department is grateful for the strong partnership we share with Russell County EMS. We work side-by-side every day, and we truly could not ask for a better group of men and women to serve alongside. Thank you for your commitment, professionalism, and the care you provide to our community.
