Senator Brandon J. Storm and Representative Daniel Elliott presented Mayor Housam Haddad and the City of Liberty with a check for $12,563,000 to fund the Liberty Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements Project. Senator Storm stated, “Investing in critical infrastructure projects to address issues affecting their public water or wastewater systems has been of utmost importance, and we sincerely appreciate everyone who worked tirelessly to secure this crucial funding.” The grant was made possible through the Kentucky WWATERS Program. LCADD staff Judy Hachey, Community Development Specialist, and Lyndsey Brown, Deputy Executive Director, were pleased to assist the City of Liberty with the preparation of the application and will continue to provide funding administration throughout the project.

Lake Cumberland Area Development District staff recently attended the Work Ethic Seal Awards Luncheon/Pulaski County Educational Consortium at The Center for Rural Development.
This seal signifies that the student has met criteria that exemplify employment skills valued by employers. Juniors and Seniors from Pulaski Co Schools and Somerset High School must meet criteria in all of the following areas: Attendance,Tardies and Early Dismissals,Overall Grade Point Average, Discipline and Community Service/School Involvement/Employment.

LCADD was pleased to have Bobby Jo Lewis, Commissioner of the KYTC Dept of Rural and Municipal Aid, speak at the recent Regional Transportation Committee meeting. Commissioner Lewis discussed various funding opportunities and programs available to cities and counties as well as provided current legislative updates.
