🍎 Breakfast at RCHS = LOTS of choices! 🥐

Students have plenty of options to build a breakfast they’ll enjoy! In addition to the featured menu item each day, students can choose from a variety of other entrée choices, including:

🍗 Chicken Biscuits
🌭 Sausage Biscuits
🥣 Multiple cereal choices
🧁 A variety of pastries

And there’s even more to choose from!

🍎 Fruit: Fresh fruit, fruit cups, frozen fruit cups & more
🧃 Juice: Multiple flavors available
🥛 Milk: Chocolate, White & Strawberry

With so many different choices and combinations, breakfast doesn’t have to look the same for every student!

🍎 So Many Choices at RCMS Today! 🍎

Take a look at just how many options our students have when they come through the lunch line at Russell County Middle School!

Today, students could choose from several different entrées, vegetables, fruits, grains, and milk options — giving them lots of ways to build a meal they’ll enjoy.

⭐ One lunch line = MANY choices and combinations!

And this isn’t just today! There are many options available each and every menu day. While the specific foods change based on the day’s menu, our goal is to give students variety and choices while still providing a complete, reimbursable school meal.

We love seeing our students find the combinations that work for them. 💚💙

We’ve put together a quick look at some of the ideas and requests we heard, along with why we can offer some options and why others may not be possible right now. Our goal is to provide as much variety and choice as we can while still meeting nutrition guidelines, managing costs, reducing food waste, and making sure we can serve meals efficiently to all of our students.

🍉 Fresh & Local in Russell County Schools! 🍉

This week, students in all Russell County Schools cafeterias enjoyed fresh, locally grown watermelon!🌱🍉

We are proud to bring fresh, local produce to our students while supporting the farmers right here in our community. ❤️

A big THANK YOU to Vaughn’s Green River Valley Farms for helping us put delicious, locally grown watermelon on our students’ trays this week!

☀️ What an incredible summer! ☀️

Thanks to our dedicated School Nutrition team, supportive families, and amazing community, Russell County Schools served 126,767 SUN Meals To-Go meals this summer! 🎉

Thank you for making this another outstanding summer of serving our students and community. We are grateful for the opportunity to help keep kids nourished, healthy, and ready to learn!

We can't wait to see students back in our cafeterias next week!

🍎 Great news for Russell County families! 🍎

For the 2026-2027 school year, ALL students at Russell County High School, Russell County Middle School, Russell Springs Elementary, Jamestown Elementary, and Salem Elementary will receive FREE breakfast and lunch every school day through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)!

✅ No meal application required
✅ No cost to families
📋 Income verification forms are still needed for other federal programs.
